The Cordwheel is also used as high quality hand held reel in the deployment of cat data cables used in battlespace I.T and ADSL. As a lightweight rugged cord wheel the Ruslyn Cordwheel is used for the deployment of copper (DON10) with the P3 / P1 tactical data and voice communications systems.
The Ruslyn Pack Reel is used by dismounted personnel for lightweight small reel handling of communication cables. The Pack Reel can be attached to webbing or simply pack carried. It is small, lightweight and rugged. Currently both the Cordwheel and Pack Reel are used by defence as lightweight hand reels in many countries around the world.
